Bilderbuch have long established a fan base beyond the borders of their native Austria, with a musical style that defies categorization: is it indie rock, art pop, funk rock, or something completely different? It certainly falls under the heading of popular art, and it’s a delight to listen to. This spring and summer the top-selling band from Vienna will be on tour to present their latest album, “Vernissage my Heart.” Among the new songs the fans may look forward to hearing performed live at the Festival de Wiltz will be “Europa 22” – almost a hymn to Europe, yet free of moralizing platitudes. Which is typical of Bilderbuch: four musicians guided by a shared intuition, as perhaps only people can who have been writing songs together since their childhood days. With some of their German-language hits, such as “Schick Schock”, “Maschin” or “LED go”, Bilderbuch have already made pop history.
For several years now the long-established open air festival in the Wiltz Castle grounds has dedicated this day to crossover: pop music, electronic music, indie rock as well as a theatre production. In the summer of 2019 we will be delighted to welcome live on the amphitheatre stage Bilderbuch (AUT, Indie-Rock), Alli Neumann (GER, Alternative Pop), Black Sea Dahu (SUI, Urban Folk) and Say Yes Dog (LUX/GER, Electro Snyth Pop), plus the Luxembourg artists’ collective Maskénada with their latest création of "Kaz am Sak" (details will follow, tickets are available as a package performance + concert or separately).
